Kochi Water Metro has fast become one of the most renowned modes of transport, and, for obvious reasons too. A well-connected mode of public transport is not common in India. As such, this unique transport has garnered significant attention both in India and abroad. Recently, a non-Indian travel vlogger shared his experience of travelling in the Kochi Water Metro for the very first time. His experience showed whether the metro really lives up to the hype.

The video was shared by a digital creator who goes by the handle @hugh.abroad. The video starts with Hugh entering the Fort Koshi station of the water metro line. There, he purchases a return ticket to High Court station which costs him ₹40 (around US$0.5).
He then proceeds towards the boarding dock and notes that all of the boats look pretty modern and sleek. Soon after boarding, he realises that the boats are actually quite clean and spotless. He also notes that the air-conditioning in the metro is “ice cold.”
Hugh even notes some interesting features of the boats like it having USB ports. Once the journey begins, he even notes how picturesque the route is. After deboarding, he gives generally positive feedback and says that the metro was very clean, comfortable and pocket-friendly.

A number of people in the comments section were quite impressed with how smooth the experience was. They also praised how hygienically the Kochi water metro was maintained. A number of locals also took to the comments section.
They expressed their pride and elation at the high standard of service and hygiene the metro has maintained. One commenter says, “God’s own country,” recalling the aptness of the moniker that the Indian state of Kerala has.
