IndiGo has been making headlines for the past few days. From the scary incident of a passenger attacking a co-pilot to actor Ranvir Shorey tweeting about a 10-hour delay to passengers sitting on the tarmac and eating food, looks like the airline is experiencing a harsh time. Recently, a flight was delayed so long that people began eating on the runway.

Flight delays are one of the worst experiences of air travel. It is a bit bearable when the delay is for a short time but people’s frustration and anger increase with time. Recently, a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Goa was delayed for a long time. Not only did passengers claim that it was delayed for more than 12 hours but the plane was diverted in between as well.
According to videos shared on social media, the 6E2195 flight took off late from Goa. Instead of landing in Delhi, the flight diverted its destination due to fog in Delhi and landed at the Mumbai airport. Firstly the humongous delay and then the change in destination angered everyone on board.
Rajdeep Sardesai (@sardesairajdeep) shared a video of passengers at the Mumbai airport’s runway.
And we thought this would only happen at a railway station. Passengers of IndiGo Goa-Delhi who after 12 hours delayed flight got diverted to Mumbai having dinner just next to the Indigo plane (by the way, most of our railway stations seem to be smarter than ever before!) 😊👍 pic.twitter.com/bjFFMMd76n

After landing at the Mumbai airport, the passengers came out of the flight. There was a bus waiting to take the passengers to Terminal 1 but no one agreed to travel on that, according to a report by Hindustan Times. Passengers were frustrated by all these inconveniences and horrible experiences. Tired of the delay and the route diversion, they simply took the food packets, sat near the flight on the tarmac, and began having their dinner.
The Flight To Delhi Departed On The Next Day
The harrowing experience came to an end on Monday when the flight finally departed at 2:39 AM. IndiGo released a Press Statement mentioning how they are aware of everything that happened with the IndiGo flight from Goa to Delhi on January 14. The reason to divert the aircraft to Mumbai was because of fog and low visibility conditions in Delhi. IndiGo apologised for the inconvenience and stated about taking steps to avoid such incidents in the future.

The authorities had to pause the flight operations due to poor weather conditions and fog-induced disruptions, keeping safety in mind. He also shared some steps that have been taken to mitigate such situations and inconveniences in the future.
In view of the fog-induced disruptions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on mitigating passenger inconvenience were issued yesterday to all the airlines.

Its a BudgetAirline.
Cant afford to send thm to Hotel or leave th AC ON & thus the engine in th plane wth seated passengers for hours&hours.
As far as these innocent passengers arent a threat to security & safety, whats th problem if they sit on the tarmac outside the aircraft??— Rajesh H Jhangiani (@JhangianiRajesh) January 16, 2024
Once money gone is gone. Unless the businesses have some business ethics, getting refund is a distant dream. This is sad and unexpected outcome. People react differently.

While clowns bring joy to the circus, their suitability for governance is less impressive.

This scene might be one of the lowest points in the history of Indigo .

This is really sad that despite spending handsome on air travel, @IndiGo6E has made passengers sit on the Tarmac.

Sad. Yet, not inevitable.

It is ridiculous that MoCA/DGCA wait for such extreme incidents before taking any meaningful measures!! Hardly any point in saying Incredible India if things are so terrible! Also, violence is unacceptable but then such terrible situations are unacceptable too!

This is really bad. @JM_Scindia should do something about this.
Atleast let people know in advance that their flight will be delayed.— Abhishek Singh (@twtabhisheksing) January 16, 2024
