A video recently went viral where an angry passenger was seen punching the co-pilot of an IndiGo flight. The incident took place on a flight which was heading to Goa from the National Capital of the country. The video understandably went viral and even the passenger who was assaulted was arrested. A Russian model who was also on the IndiGo flight gave more context to the situation and shared why the passenger hit the pilot.

According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, the unruly passenger who hit the co-pilot Anup Kumar is a resident of Amar Colony in Delhi and his name is Sahil Kataria. He owns a toy business.

The Russian model, Evgenia Belskaia, shared the viral video of Kataria hitting the pilot on her account and gave more context to the situation. She prefaced it by saying that hitting the pilot was not right. However, she said that she and her team had been waiting at the airport for ten hours.

She also went on to say that the pilot was not nice. After the ten-hour delay when the passengers finally boarded the flight, the pilot again announced that the flight would be delayed by two hours. This understandably incited a lot of agitation from the passengers.

The Airline Responds To The Situation On Social Media

However, as per Belskaia, instead of taking accountability, he blamed the passengers for asking too many questions and holding them responsible for delaying the flight even longer by doing so. This is when the unruly passenger hit the pilot.

The airline responded to the situation by saying that the safety of passengers and crew is paramount for the airline and they would take necessary measures to ensure that the unruly passenger gets adequate consequences.
