Malai Kofta & 2 Other Indian Dishes Make It To World’s 50 Best Deep-Fried Dishes List

The popular food guide TasteAtlas just dropped the list of 50 best deep-fried dishes in the world. And three Indian dishes have made it to the prestigious list because all foodies know that, be it a deep-fried dish or simply a pulao, India has to be on the list.

For food lovers, this list by TasteAtlas is a global ultimate comfort food map. The list of 50 best deep-fried dishes from around the world not only features dishes from Japan and South Korea but also from India. South Korea’s Chikin shined in the first spot on the list, which is a dish inspired by American-style fried chicken.

India’s Malai Kofta made it to the 10th spot on the list and honestly, this is amazing. The dish, rooted in Mughal cuisine, is made by making fried dumplings of paneer and potato and then dipping them in a creamy sauce. The dumplings are extremely soft and have a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The dish is commonly served at weddings, celebrations and festivals.

Chicken 65 And Papri Chaat Also Make The List

In 32nd spot, Chicken 65 made it to the best deep-fried dishes list by TasteAtlas. It is a famous South Indian deep-fried chicken appetiser known for its spicy, tangy flavour and crunchy texture. It is served in bite-sized pieces as a snack.

The third Indian dish which made it to the list is our favourite street food, Papri Chaat, and that too in the 40th spot. It is a popular Indian street food made of crispy fried matthi (papri) layered with potatoes, chickpeas, yoghurt and sweet and tangy chutneys.
