On the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani visited Remo D’Souza at his beautiful home and shared a delicious meal with him and his wife, Lizelle D’Souza. Before sitting down for the meal, Kamiya was greeted by a sea of furry friends, sparking a warm conversation about Remo’s love for animals and some interesting childhood stories.
Remo D’Souza Once Brought A Fox Baby Home
A curious Kamiya asked Remo D’Souza when his love for animals began. The choreographer-turned-director shared that he has been an animal lover since childhood. Growing up in Jamnagar, he often had to walk long distances to school, and on his way back, he would pick up small animals and bring them home. His mother, who also loved animals, would often support his habit of rescuing and fostering them.
Recalling one such incident, Remo shared that he once jumped into a drain after spotting a tiny puppy. He crawled through it to rescue the animal and brought it home, only to be scolded by his mother for the risky act. However, the two later cleaned up the little animal and carried on with their day.
But the real twist came later. When his father returned home that evening and saw the “puppy,” he was shocked and asked what Remo had brought home. An innocent Remo said it was a baby dog, but his father quickly pointed out that it was actually a baby fox!
Shares He Has 8 Dogs & 3 Cats!
He went on to reveal that growing up around the Air Force camp in Jamnagar, close to nature, played a big role in shaping his love for animals. At his home, Kamiya was welcomed by a lively bunch of around 11 pets, eight dogs and three cats, all of whom Remo D’Souza deeply loves and adores.
The oldest dogs in the family are Ice and Snow, followed by Cooper, Pope, Rico, Bundi, Star, and Fury. As for the cats, they are fondly named Bambi, Gigi, and Simba by Remo and Lizelle D’Souza.
