In the video shared by X user Woke Eminent, we can see a massive crowd making their way up the steep rock-cut stairs of Harihar Fort. Known for its risky trekking route, the fort has slippery stone steps carved at nearly an 80-degree angle. The video shows hundreds of people packed along the path. Not only that, some even appear to be enjoying the moment, posing for selfies and videos. This clip has now sparked a safety concern for these people among netizens.
It should be noted that Harihar Fort sits at an altitude of 3,676 feet and is famous for its narrow stairs that lead up to the fort. The user who posted the video captioned it, “Another major incident waiting to happen? Harihar Fort weekend crowd surge is a death trap!!” He also warned that one minor stampede could cause hundreds to fall to their death. The post has crossed 900K views and received over 500 comments since yesterday.

Yes, the video is scary. It makes us genuinely worried for the safety of everyone seen on those narrow steps. Some people were even seen standing and sitting casually close to the edge. Many users on X shared their concern. One user commented, “Earlier, people used to save their lives by avoiding such a place. But today, people are risking their lives just out of Fomo I don’t know where we’re heading ”. And we agree, people are risking their lives for social media reels.
Another user shared the same feelings and wrote, “This is the desperate condition of India’s youthful Future. Perhaps this is the shortcut to fame and glory. Aiming for the stars was never so easy.” One more added, Everyone must understand one thing: Adventure is one thing, but taking unnecessary risks with your life and the lives of others is something entirely different. Always avoid any event or place that is overcrowded or poses safety concerns.” One user even called this situation “Absolutely alarming”.
While some users blamed the youth, others pointed fingers at the government and authorities. Many users on X demanded strict action to prevent such crowding and a stampede-like situation.
