Vox ‘Drive In’ Cinema To Kick Off From 17 May

And it’s finally happening! Moviebuffs, you don’t have to wait longer to catch your favourite flicks. Grease your wheels- Vox cinemas has launched a new cinematic experience in the Mall of the Emirates. The new drive-in experience is docked in the third level, right next to Ski Dubai.

The Vox Drive In debuted on 13 May at the Mall of the Emirates. The drive-through cinema had a mega launch with a media screening of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Bad Boys For Life. All the necessary precautions were taken to ensure the safety of staff and guests and fans were able to experience movies on the big screen once again.

Movie lovers can enjoy watching movies from the safety and comfort of their car with screenings on the Mall rooftop. The experience will open to the public on Sunday 17 May.

Visitors access the new theatre via Sheikh Zayed Road, when you take Exit 39 heading towards Abu Dhabi. However, going by the current restrictions, kids between 3-12 years and adults aged 60 will not be permitted to enter.

What Else?

Meanwhile, Vox Cinemas is not the only one to kick off drive in cine experiences. Urban Outdoor Cinema also announced the launch of drive-in cinemas. In an interview, Urban Entertainment chief executive Michael Heyes said: “We are currently working on several projects across the UAE where we will be looking to implement drive-in cinemas. We feel now is the perfect time to launch this – especially as social distancing will still be important as restrictions on outdoor events start to relax.”
