A fresh coating of snow has covered the charming town of Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir, turning the area into an enthralling winter wonderland. Gulmarg’s natural beauty reached new heights when the first snowfall of the season blessed the landscape, drawing both residents and tourists to enjoy the magical snowfall.
On Saturday, rain battered the lowlands while a few places in Kashmir’s higher elevations saw additional snowfall. The previous night’s low of minus 3.5 degrees Celsius was surpassed by a low of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius on Friday night in Srinagar city.
The renowned ski resort of Gulmarg in the Baramulla district recorded a low of minus 2.8 degrees Celsius, according to officials, while Pahalgam, in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir, which serves as one of the base camps for the yearly Amarnath Yatra, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 5.1 degrees Celsius.
The lowest recorded temperatures were minus 3.8 degrees Celsius in Qazigund, minus 3.6 degrees Celsius in Kokernag town, and minus 1.0 degrees Celsius in Kupwara. The officials predict that on Saturday and Sunday, Jammu & Kashmir will be impacted by a mild western disturbance.

They claimed that a weak western disturbance that affected parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday afternoon caused light to moderate snowfall in a few places in the valley’s upper reaches.
Winter Arrived In The North Of Baramulla District
According to the report, officials at the Gulmarg ski resort in the Baramulla area of north Kashmir reported receiving almost six inches of new snowfall. They stated that snowfall was also seen on the Zojila axis and in the Sonamarg tourist resort. According to the officials, rain continued to pound the plains in the valley until the last reports arrived.
According to them, Jammu and Kashmir will be impacted by the western disturbance until Sunday morning. Its influence is likely to bring mild rain or snow in certain areas, particularly in the upper reaches.
According to the meteorological agency, the weak western disturbance will help the minimum temperatures until Sunday, at which point they are expected to drop by one to three degrees once more.
