According to an article which was recently published by The Times of India or the TOI, the trial involved a 15-minute flight and landing on the 3,900-metre runway. This was followed by a brief 5-minute stopover and subsequent takeoff.
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Noida Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, and other high-ranking officials were present to witness this momentous occasion, which was celebrated with a ceremonial water cannon salute. Currently, the airport is in an advanced stage of development.
Approximately 85 per cent of the construction is complete, with the first phase spanning 1,334 hectares. The project represents a substantial investment of ₹29,650 crore, with ₹8,000 crore already expended. Advanced landing systems, including CAT-1 and CAT-3 Instrument Landing Systems, have been installed and tested, enhancing aircraft safety during challenging weather conditions.

Operated by Zurich International Airport AG under a 40-year management contract, the airport is set to become a major aviation hub. Once fully operational in April 2025, it will handle 65 daily flights — 62 domestic, two international, and one cargo flight — with the capacity to serve 12 million passengers annually.
Upon completion, it is projected to be the fourth-largest airport in Asia. The ongoing trials will continue until December 15, with collected data being meticulously analyzed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation or the DGCA.
The successful trial flight represents a significant milestone in India’s aviation infrastructure, promising enhanced connectivity and economic opportunities for the region.
