In a recent episode of Sunday Brunch, our guest, Vishnu Manchu, sat down with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, at the Banana Leaf in Mumbai. Over the wholesome South Indian thali, Vishnu was talking about his recently released star-studded, high-budget film Kannappa, which has now hit the cinemas and is creating a buzz. Inspired by the extensive use of VFX in his film Kannappa, Vishnu is now gearing up to launch a VFX undergrad program. Read on to learn more about this exciting initiative.

VFX Course At Mohan Babu University By Vishnu Manchu

Kamiya and Vishnu Manchu were discussing Kannappa’s script, cast, location and more. He shared that while Indians still have room to improve in filmmaking, they’re doing a great job with VFX. Inspired by the VFX houses in Kannappa, Vishnu is all set to launch his own VFX Undergrad Program at Mohan Babu University in Andhra Pradesh. He said, “I am a pro-chancellor of this university, which is 33 years old, and through my experience with the VFX in Kannappa, I have decided to do something more about it.”

He is launching this undergrad program by taking up the course curriculum from some of the biggest VFX production houses in the world. Vishnu is all set to create a phenomenal course structure and aims to build a strong workforce of VFX producers and supervisors over the next three years.

His Family Wanted Him To Be An IPS Officer

Vishnu’s family was looking forward to seeing him become an IPS officer. Kamiya asked, “Today, you’re an actor, producer, and writer, working on such a large-scale film. So, is your family happy with your choice of becoming an actor?” He shared that his father, Mohan Babu, always dreamed of seeing him as an IPS officer, someone people would salute, and the world would look up to with pride. He said, “I believe that with all the good things I do now, people will respect me for that too.”
