The ancient history, art, and culture of Odisha can be witnessed in the beautiful coastal town of Puri, which is also known as the ‘holiest of the holy’ cities in the world and is famous for its Jagannath Temple. Bianca Saurastri takes you around some of the must-visit things to do in and around Puri. Starting with exploring the heritage craft village of Raghurajpur which is full of Pattachitra painters and then moving further to the iconic Jagannath Puri Temple – a place of worship for lakhs of devotees from around the world. She then visited Puri’s famous Golden Beach, which was given the Blue Flag Certification for being one of the cleanest beaches in India. Bianca ended her day enjoying a delicious Odia meal along with a beautiful cultural dance performance. Odisha is home to one of the largest brackish water lakes which is the Chilka Lake, famous for Dolphin spotting and 2 hours away from Puri is the Satpada Dolphin Center where she spotted the Irrawaddy Dolphins.
