As India reels under winter weather conditions, Maharashtra is no different. Yes, cold weather conditions are expected to persist in several districts of the state with weather updates prompting people to keep their sweaters close. Here’s what the update for Maharashtra mentions!

Maharashtra Continues To Reel Under Cold Weather

Recently, on X (formerly Twitter), Mumbai Rains (@rushikesh_agre_) shared weather forecasts for Mumbai and Pune. In the weather forecast, it was mentioned that Mumbai is expected to reel under the cold wave conditions for 36 to 48 hours. In fact, the post also mentioned that the temperatures were expected to fall more and that in the interiors, it might even touch 10°C. Not to mention, the suburbs are also expected to be affected as they will feel cold due to the speedy winds overnight, which might reach 12 to 13°C.

It Might Even Rain In Vidarbha, Today

As such, it’s worth mentioning that strong cold winds have become dominant for the last 24 hours that are, of course, going to create an impact. With windy weather and less humidity for the next two to three days, the cold weather conditions are expected to intensify their grip. In fact, in a report by Hindustan Times, it was also mentioned that there is a chance of rain in Maharashtra in the next 48 hours. The report mentioned that some places like Gadchiroli, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Nagpur, received light rain the previous day. And it’s expected to rain in some parts of the Madhya Maharashtra, like Vidarbha.

Pune Breaks Weather Records

Not to mention, people in Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Maharashtra, and Madhya Maharashtra have also been affected by the cold. In fact, there was also a lot of fog! Coming to Pune, Mumbai Rains also mentioned that Pune is breaking records this season! Yes, Shivajinagar is at 9.7°C, Kothrud, NDA at 8.2°C, and Pashan is also at 10.1°C. And, it is expected that these cold weather conditions may last for the next two to three days, till January 26 to 27. After that, the weather might offer some relief to the people.
