Nestled in the Birbhum district in West Bengal, this small town is home to the iconic Visva-Bharati built by Rabindranath Tagore. Santiniketan Is Inscribed On UNESCO World Heritage List

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, UNESCO shared the grand news of Santiniketan entering the prestigious list of World Heritage List.

The remarkable announcement by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is indeed a splendid reason to celebrate. This is a significant landmark and a reputed feather added to this townā€™s cap. During the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee, the decision to inscribe Santiniketan to the UNESCO World Heritage List was taken, according to a report by NDTV. Saudi Arabia is hosting the session.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the X platform to share his thoughts on this illustrious recognition of Santiniketan. He called it a proud moment for all Indians.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also took to social media to express about this glorious landmark achieved by Santiniketan. She shared how she is ā€œGlad and proud that our Santiniketan, the town of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, is now finally included in UNESCOā€™s World Heritage List.ā€
