Western Railway Launches 29 Pairs Of Summer Special Trains; Check Routes, Dates & More

With the summer vacations on, the demand for travel has picked up dramatically throughout the country. To facilitate the rush of travellers, Western Railway has added 29 pairs of summer special trains, with 930 trips scheduled for destinations in different parts of India. These special trains are run along with the regular ones for convenient travel, especially for those who are travelling to their resident states or holiday destinations.

Summer Special Trains For The Northern And Eastern Routes

As reported by Loktej, Western Railway is operating 16 pairs of summer special trains, with 376 trips to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Rajasthan. These services ensure better connectivity for travellers heading to these high-demand destinations.

Likewise, 7 sets of trains with 140 trips have been launched for eastern states like Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal. These trains are especially helpful for migrant workers and families coming back home for the holidays.

Passengers going to the southern states like Karnataka and Telangana also enjoy two sets of special trains running 106 trips. The trains offer a comfortable and direct means of travel for those going to big cities in the south.

Further, to cater to tourists from Gujarat, 16 pairs of summer special trains are operating from important stations such as Ahmedabad, Gandhidham, Vadodara, Valsad, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar Terminus. This provides improved connectivity to several areas.

As per the officials of Western Railway, these additional trains are meant to decongest and serve the large crowd of passengers in the peak holiday season. As different routes are covered, travellers have greater opportunities to travel comfortably to their destinations.

Additional Coaches And Real-Time Tracking

Western Railway has included approximately 300 additional general second-class coaches in these special trains to cater to the large number of passengers. These additional coaches are meant to provide extra seating space, particularly for migrant workers and daily travellers.

12 sets of special trains totalling 148 trips are operating from Mumbai to other places. Real-time monitoring of waitlists is also being conducted on a daily basis to monitor demand.

Western Railway has assured that it will launch more special trains in the coming days to ease further travel congestion and ensure a smooth ride for passengers.
