Around 8 billion people are living in the world today. There are 195 countries globally and there are tons of languages for people to communicate with each other. From national to regional, the number of languages is surely endless. In a vast and diverse country like India, there are about 780 known languages. Among these, one of the most famous is Bengali. Interestingly, it has many similarities with Thai.

Creators Found Similarities Between Bengali And Thai Languages

Taking to Instagram, πŸŒΈπŸ‚πŸŒœπŸŒ›πŸ’«πŸ’¦πŸ’™πŸŒΏ (@maynumpetch.official) shared this interesting reel where she collaborated with Travis Scott (@abhijitsen___official_000) to share the fascinating details about both languages’ resemblances.

Tons of languages are used in different places but some of the terminologies turn out to be quite similar often. There are not a lot but some similarities between Bengali and Thai languages and an alike way by which people pronounce these words. In this reel, both creators shared their way of uttering each word and pointed out the likenesses and differences between Bengali and Thai.

They began the video with incense stick to be the first word. In Bengali, it is known as dhup. Interestingly, dhup is the word used for instance sticks in the Thai language as well. The next word to find the similarities or dissimilarities was Education. In Bengali, it is pronounced as sikkha. However, it sounds like siksha in Thai. The next word was Wedding. Bibaho is the word for wedding in the Bengali language. In Thai, the word pronounced by the female creator was a lot different in comparison to the one pronounced by the male creator. It is also known as Ngan tang.

They Shared More Words In Both Languages

Along with all these words, they also shared the Bengali and Thai words for soap, shoeblackplant, devil, crow, diseases, and week.
