For many of us, there’s no better way to kickstart the morning than with a steaming cup of coffee. Beyond its rich aroma and bold flavour, coffee holds a special place in the hearts and routines of people worldwide. What differs is that each person has a different recipe for their morning coffee. Among the most widely consumed coffee beverages are lattes, black coffee, and espresso. However, for those who don’t want to satisfy their caffeine craving with a classy, milkshake-like beverage and like their morning drink stronger than black coffee, go for a black eye coffee.

For those seeking an extra jolt of energy or a more intense flavour experience, there exists a world beyond black coffee. Enter a potent form of black coffee, black eye coffee that gives you an immediate energy boost and wakes you up. A black eye is a cup of coffee spiked with two additional shots of espresso. The name comes from the fact that it’s a strong cup of coffee, as you might imagine.

Due to its higher caffeine content, black eye coffee is like a stronger wake-up call than other coffees, akin to a punch to the face. The name espresso coffee comes from the look it gets when it’s poured over freshly brewed coffee. Many think it’s because drinking has the effect of a hit to the face. This drink has a lot of caffeine and is very strong. It is advised that those who are in any way sensitive to caffeine avoid this beverage.

A black eye adds two shots of espresso to a cup of coffee, compared to one shot with a red eye. You’re receiving a healthy 224 milligrams of caffeine in every black eye you purchase, given that an espresso shot typically contains 64 milligrams of caffeine and an 8-ounce cup of coffee contains approximately 96 mg.

Ingredients:

  • Half a teaspoon of coffee beans
  • 1 tsp finely ground coffee beans
  • Half a cup of purified water
  • Sugar and milk are optional.

Method:

  • Pour filtered water into a coffee pot and bring to a boil. To boil water, you can also use a kettle, pour-over, and French press.
  • Stir in the hot water to achieve a smooth consistency for the coffee. Set it away.
  • Add the double espresso shot after that.
  • You can also include sugar and milk.

There’s no denying the black eye coffee’s strong flavour. Still, everything depends on the decisions you make. Most people drink it for the caffeine rush, though you can alter the flavour to taste lighter or heavier.
