The auspicious festival is celebrated on Phalgun month’s Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha. Thousands of devotees are visiting temples dedicated to Lord Krishna today to pray and seek blessings from Lord Krishna. Observed between Basant Panchami and Holi, Phulera Dooj is known for the celebrations of the spring blossoms. In addition, people believe that Lord Krishna plays Holi with flowers on the Phulera Dooj eve. Also, this is a supremely auspicious day and perfect for auspicious celebrations.

Here’s About The Date, Time & Tithi Of Phulera Dooj:

  • The tithi of the festival began on March 11 at 10:44 AM.
  • It ended on March 12 at 7:13 AM.

Just like the name of the festival, lots of phul (flowers) are used in decorating the temples, roads, and devotees’ houses. There are several rituals to follow on this day. Among all the traditions, one of the most beautiful parts of the celebrations is to enjoy the day by playing with flowers. It is a lot similar to Holi but devotees use flowers and not any colour.

Temple Connect Official (@TempleConnect_) shared some beliefs about Phulera Dooj.

Many devotees visit the Krishna temples in Mathura and Vrindavan on this day. People visit from different places to celebrate the joyous occasion. Devotees who perform puja on this festival wake up quite early in the morning to arrange everything. After their baths, devotees use water and flowers to bathe the idols, dress them with new clothes, and also beautify the singhasan or jhula with lots of flowers. From butter to rice kheer, many sweets are offered as prasad.
