Dubai Municipality recently collaborated with the Community Development Authority (CAD). With this collaboration, they launched a ‘Safe Water For Healthy Community’. Aiming to enhance the water system and safety for senior citizen homes & villas, here’s all you need to know about the initiative that aligns with 2025 as the Year Of The Community.

‘Safe Water For Healthy Community’ Initiative Launched In Dubai

The ‘Safe Water For Healthy Community’ initiative, which was recently launched, is dedicated to proactive public health protection. As revealed by the Dubai Media Office, it ensures that domestic water systems meet the highest international quality standards. Moreover, through technical assessments, community engagement, and laboratory testing, the initiative aims to reduce health risks that are associated with water contamination. Moreover, community partnership and service excellence will be achieved through the formation process.

Talking about the first phase, the aim is to assess 42 homes and villas. These will be located in 10 different areas across Dubai, and the focus will be on water systems, safety, and compliance with internationally best practices. For this purpose, there will also be free inspections conducted by specialist engineering teams. They will collect water samples for analysis at the Dubai Central Laboratory. After this, any identified risk will be addressed through corrective measures, which will be done in collaboration with water treatment specialists.

To promote awareness on water, safety and hygiene, the Dubai Municipality and CDA will together be hosting educational workshops. This will be done in the Dubai Council and will highlight the importance of maintaining clean and safe water systems.

In fact, the Dubai Municipality is also urging the residents to adopt sustainable water safety practices. This is being done to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of domestic water systems. For this purpose, residents are being advised to disinfect and clean water tanks and plumbing systems at least every six months. This can be done using the companies that have been approved by the Dubai Municipality. Moreover, it is also pertinent that regular maintenance is done so that there is no accumulation of pollutants and there is proper functioning of water systems.

Finally, stagnant water must be drained to minimise the risk of bacterial growth and contamination. As a result, there should be a safe and hygienic water supply for households.
