Gorging on a bowl of soupy ramen sitting in Japan is what dreams are made of. While planning your itinerary, make sure to add the world’s first ramen museum. Japan is home to a museum dedicated to these noodles and it is a must-visit.

Nestled in the Shin-Yokohama district of Yokohama, the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is undoubtedly one of the most unique and iconic places to explore. Devoted only and solely to the world-famous Japanese ramen noodles, this place takes you on an extraordinary tour to learn all about the yummy delicacy. From getting to know about its history to relishing its deliciousness, the food court that opened in 1994 is full of surprises.

Head to the first floor of the food court to witness all about the history of the appetising noodles. From its invention to the making process to seeing a wide presentation of famous delicacies such as soups and toppings, there is so much to learn about here.

From Ide Shoten to Keyaki Japanese Restaurant, this museum is home to several outlets of Japan’s iconic ramen places. To enjoy delish ramen from famous restaurants under the same roof, Shin Yokohama Ramen Museum is your destination.

Interestingly, the museum also houses a display of Tokyo’s recreation from 1958. This is when the famous noodles were made for the first time. The basement floors open to models of Shitamachi’s lanes and houses from decades back. Entering here costs 450 yen (₹250.20) for each visitor.
