Indian Railway is set to enhance travel between Patna and Delhi with the introduction of the Patna-Delhi Vande Bharat train, which will run between Bihar’s capital city and the national capital. This high-speed train promises faster, more comfortable, and more luxurious travel on busy routes. The East Central Railway has already started making preparations to launch the high-speed train, and talks with the Railway Board are already in progress. The new service will meet the high passenger rush on the Patna to Delhi route, with thousands of commuters travelling every day.
Patna-Delhi Vande Bharat Train
Following Holi, rail stations in Bihar, such as Patna Junction, are likely to see a greater number of passengers. In order to tackle this rush, the East Central Railway is likely to introduce the Patna-Delhi Vande Bharat as a special train.
As per a Dainik Bhaskar report, besides this high-speed facility, many special trains will also be launched to accommodate travellers who are travelling to other cities. In addition, other special trains have been scheduled:
- Valsad-Danapur-Valsad Special (09025/09026): Traverses from Valsad every Monday (March 3 – June 30) and from Danapur every Tuesday (March 4 – July 1).
- Udhna-Patna-Udhna Superfast Special (09045/09046): Traverses from Udhna every Friday (March 7 – June 27) and from Patna every Saturday (March 8 – June 28).
- Patna-Puri Special (08440): Leaves Patna on every Sunday (March 9 – June 29).
- The New Delhi-Rajendranagar Clone Special (02394) has been extended and will be operated from New Delhi six days a week excluding Fridays.
- A few more long special trains are Rajendranagar-New Delhi (02393), New Delhi-Rajendranagar (02394), Danapur-Anand Vihar (03257), and Anand Vihar-Danapur (03258), which run until April 2.
Patna-Delhi Vande Bharat: Travel Time And Amenities
The Patna-Delhi Vande Bharat was introduced as a festival special last October for a test run. The Indian Railway Ministry announced that the train would run with important halts at Arrah, Buxar, DDU, Prayagraj, and Kanpur. Stretching around 994 kilometres, the bullet train will cut down the travel time between New Delhi and Patna significantly. The trip, which takes more time on regular trains, will be done in only 11 hours and 35 minutes.
The launch of this Vande Bharat train service will provide travellers with a contemporary and efficient journey, further strengthening Bihar’s railway link with Delhi. While waiting for the detailed schedule, one thing is certain: high-speed trains are a step toward making railway travel in India more modern.
