About a two-hour drive from Mussoorie, Kanatal is a quaint little hill station that should be on your 2024 bucket list! This hamlet used to have a small lake or ‘taal’ that dried up a few decades ago. Thus came its name – Kanatal, which literally means a lake that doesn’t exist any longer!

If you love apples, then Kanatal will be your haven. This hill station has many apple orchards around it and you can grab some fresh ones if you visit during August or September. You’ll find overflowing trees with juicy apples, and that truly is a sight for sore eyes! Besides that, Kanatal is surrounded by tall pine, deodar, and rhododendron forests, making it a nature lover’s paradise.
