Harvard University Publishes Study On Hyderabad Metro
According to The Hindu, Harvard has published a case study ‘Hyderabad Metro – From Concept to Execution: The World’s Largest Metro Rail Project under Public-Private Partnership’ in the esteemed Harvard Business Journal. The case study was done by the Indian School of Business (ISB) and highlighted the metro’s achievements, how it overcame multiple challenges and hurdles, and also how the leadership of Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy is taking the project forward.
A moment of great international pride for India, the study talks about the origin of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. It talked about how N.V.S. Reddy proposed the metro rail project to address urban transportation challenges. It also speaks about adopting the PPP model to execute the world’s largest PPP metro rail project. From troubles with land acquisition issues and public protests to financial hurdles, Hyderabad Metro faced multiple difficulties but emerged as a world-class infrastructure project, revealed Harvard’s study.
Findings Of The Research
The study published in Harvard Business Review highlighted the necessity of the metro in Hyderabad. It further elaborated on how it has become a key transportation system and a model of infrastructure development through PPP methods, making it gain global recognition. It elaborated on how effective leadership, planning and negotiations had helped Hyderabad Metro overcome all the challenges.
