It was recently revealed by the Saudi Press Agency that the construction work for Al-Urubah Park in Riyadh has finally begun. Expected to be one of the largest parks in the city, this comes under the Green Riyadh Project and it will be located at the intersection of Prince Turki Bin Abdulaziz Al-Awwal Road and Al Urubah Road. This was announced by the board of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. If you’re also curious, here’s all you need to know about the upcoming green space.

Al-Urubah Park Coming Up Soon In Riyadh

Riyadh is about to get a whole lot greener as the new Al-Urubah Park is coming up soon in Riyadh. A part of the Green Riyadh program, this park will be spread across seven 7,54,000 m². It is going to elevate the quality of life by offering recreational space for both residents and visitors. In case you’re wondering, the unique design of the park was adopted from several designs submitted by six international contestants. They participated in a competition to present the best ideas and designs that would achieve sustainability and also conform to environmental standards.

Exciting Features To Watch Out In The Upcoming Park

It’s worth mentioning that the park features a panoramic path that is about 3 km long and 12 m high. Offering unprecedented views of the incredible landmarks in the city and the surrounding park, this will certainly be a great addition to the upcoming venue. Since the design will also utilise modern technologies while aiming to give visitors an interactive experience through augmented reality, it’s certainly going to be a must-visit spot for residents, once ready.

As such, the park will also feature a 14-km long walking trail, open space, theatres for events and festivals, and green terraces. Not to mention, sports facilities will also be available for people of different ages.

Coming to Green Riyadh, it is one of the four mega projects, which was launched by King Salman in 2019. The other projects include King Salman Park, Sports Boulevard, and Riyadh Art.

So, once this venue is complete, it’s bound to draw hoards of visitors who would want to check out the green space.
