On a recent visit of the DEWA CEO to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, there were details revealed about the work in progress of the fourth phase of this project. While the work continues to be underway, it is expected that once it is complete, 3,20,000 Dubai residents will be able to make use of clean energy from here. Moreover, the park is also home to the world’s tallest solar power tower in the world. Here’s all about this.
Dubai Is Home To The Tallest Solar Tower In The World
Everybody knows that Dubai is home to the tallest skyscraper in the world AKA the Burj Khalifa. However, did you know that it is also home to the tallest solar power tower in the world? Well, that is true, after all, standing at a height of 262.44 m, it is located in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Yes, it should be noted that the central tower, which is 100 megawatts started its operations in February 2023. So, as a part of the 950 MW Solar Independent Power Project, Phase 4 the site was recently visited by the MD and CEO of DEWA, Saeed Al Tayer. Yes, and it was revealed that using the Independent Power Producer model, this solar park will be able to provide clean energy for 3,20,000 Dubai residences.

On Completion of Phase 4, 3,20,000 Dubai Residents Will Get Clean Energy
Known to many as the largest single-site solar park in the world, the aim is to reduce carbon emissions by 1.6 million tonnes annually. As it happens, a report by the Dubai Media Office revealed that the first phase of the project is complete. This covers 100 per cent of the 100 megawatts from the solar tower, 217 MW from photovoltaic solar panels, and 200 MW from the parabolic basin complex. Moreover, the second and third phases are also complete, and now, the park is in its fourth phase. So, once the fourth phase is complete, it will be able to provide these residences with clean energy, as 7,90,000 photovoltaic solar panels and over 63,600 parabolic trough collectors will be installed.
