Chef Vikas Khanna has emerged as a beacon of Indian gastronomy, resonating deeply with the flair for Indian food among International people. Opening up a new restaurant in NYC’s East Village, Bungalow is the most recent endeavour of a Michelin-starred chef, in association with restaurateur Jimmy Rizvi of the Bombay House hospitality business.

Situated just above Houston Street on First Avenue, the eatery is a few blocks away from a row of Indian eateries that line Sixth Street. The history of India’s country club scene dates back to the British colonial era They developed buildings that honoured India’s rich cultural traditions and offered a break from the daily grind over time. These days, they primarily reside in old archives. With Bungaliow, the eatery brings a touch on the bygone era of India, reviving a sense of home.

In an announcement video, the chef expressed how the life and legacy of his sister are exquisitely honoured by Bungalow New York. Above all, it pays tribute to our moms, who have raised our spirits for countless generations. The name of the restaurant, Bungalow, pays homage to Indian country clubs and the recollections of large family gatherings in expansive settings. The meal will evoke fond memories for a lot of patrons. Chef Vikas Khanna has been on a mission to master the art of cooking, honing his skills in kitchens across India and beyond.

The chef also shared a video and expressed his gratitude for how the new restaurant had more than 1000 people who came in pouring rain, and waited in queues & freezing temperatures from around the U.S. “Having cooking for 40 years, I’ve never ever seen anything like this before,” he wrote.
