The Harry Potter land at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has moved from “vague future plans” to “here’s what’s actually going up.” New details point to a Hogwarts Castle, a full Diagon Alley, and three dedicated rides and attractions, making this the first theme park land in the world to house both of those iconic Wizarding World locations under one roof and the Middle East’s first Harry Potter-themed land, full stop.
What’s Actually Being Built By Warner Bros. World In Abu Dhabi

Government construction documentation has named the components directly: a Harry Potter Castle, a Harry Potter Diagon Alley, and a dedicated Harry Potter ride. Warner Bros. World’s own attraction directory lists three ride and attraction slots for the land. Because the entire park sits inside a massive climate-controlled indoor complex on Yas Island, this won’t be an open-air recreation, except for movie-set-level detail built to work regardless of the desert heat outside.
Dining and shopping are also confirmed as part of the expansion, though the specifics are still under wraps. Warner Bros. World hasn’t released restaurant names, menu concepts, or retail branding yet, but the park already runs 20 dining outlets and 22 shopping spots across its existing lands, so the Harry Potter zone is set to meaningfully expand both categories. Merchandise has already quietly started appearing in park stores in 2026 as construction progresses, a classic pre-opening tease.
When Can You Actually Visit The Harry Potter Land In Abu Dhabi
This is the part fans want most and the part nobody’s confirming. Miral has not released an opening date, final land size, or attraction capacity. Some industry trade outlets have floated 2029 as a possible opening window, but that figure hasn’t come from Miral or Warner Bros. directly, so treat it as speculation rather than a locked date for now. What is confirmed is that Warner Bros. World is accepting sign-ups for future updates on its website, so that’s currently the most reliable way to hear about progress as it happens.

For context, this project has been in motion since it was first announced in 2022, developed by Miral in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery’s Global Themed Entertainment team, separate entirely from Universal’s existing Wizarding World parks in Orlando, Hollywood, and Japan. It’ll also be the first Harry Potter theme park land built outside a Universal property, which is a genuinely big deal for a franchise that’s stayed with one operator for over a decade.
