Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, a low-cost airline has delayed its launch date. The airline, which is a joint venture between the Hungarian budget airline and Abu Dhabi state holding company ADQ was going to start its operations on October 1 . With six new routes set to connect Abu Dhabi with Europe and Egypt. However, the launch has come to a halt because of the rising in the cases of the covid-19 pandemic globally.

Amid The Covid-19 Pandemic, The First Flight Will Now Launch On October 16
The airline has delayed its operations by two weeks, and the first flight is now scheduled for October 16. Travellers who had booked their tickets for the flights arriving or departing Abu Dhabi in the first two weeks of October will be refunded 120 per cent of their fare if they opt for Wizz Air credit.
A spokesperson of the airline told a leading daily,
“Due to prevailing Covid-19-related travel restrictions, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi informs its passengers that it will postpone the launch of its operations by two weeks to October 16, 2020.”

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s One-way Fare Starts From AED 129
In terms of the routes, the airline is going to fly to six destinations. It includes Alexandria in Egypt, Greek capital Athens, Kutaisi in Georgia, Larnaca on the southern coast of Cyprus, the Black Sea port city of Odessa in Ukraine and Armenia’s capital Yerevan. The one-way fares on the budget airline start from AED 129.

Passengers Who Don’t Want To Opt For Online Credit, Will Get Cash Refund
Passenger can use credit amount to pay for any Wizz Air Flight for up to two years. And travellers who don’t wish to rebook their flight with the airlines or use the airline credit can also opt for cash refund instead. A 100 per cent refund will be provided of their fare value.
Shedding more light on the delay, the spokesperson of Wizz Air said,
“Although it is beyond the airline’s control, Wizz Air sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused.”
