Another day starts with another bizarre incident reported at an airport. With every passing day, we are simply hearing more and more unusual and weird news about passengers and airport staff and the recent one is quite shocking as it’s about a passenger going against airport security. In a recent turn of events, a woman entered the Bangalore airport and she carried a fake ticket while doing so. She had to face some consequences for breaching the protocols and here’s all you need to know about it.

Harpreet Kaur Saini is the suspect who entered Terminal 1 of the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru carrying a fake e-ticket. The fake IndiGo flight ticket was from Bengaluru to Ranchi. The woman attempted this on Sunday to meet her friend at the Pre-Embarkation Security Check Point. People carrying a valid ticket can only enter the security checkpoint, according to the security protocols.

Police officials shared details about this incident on Monday. Harpreet works in Bengaluru and is originally from Jharkhand, according to a report by Deccan Herald. The 26-year-old took a fake e-ticket to enter the airport to meet her friend. When she attempted to come out of the airport from the departure terminal, she was caught. She stated that she left her laptop outside so she was exiting from Gate No. 9.

Though she was successful at entering the airport and staying with her friend for some time, her attempt at going out without going unnoticed, failed completely. Security personnel suspected her and later asked for her ticket for checking. This was when they found out that Harpreet was using a fake IndiGo flight e-ticket. Saini said that she wanted to spend some time with her friend as he was a bit unwell. Security personnel lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru International Airport Police Station. The case is under the Indian Penal Code Sections 465 and 471. In fact, she was taken to court. She was granted bail on Monday, according to a report by The Times of India.

What Are The Implications Of Such Incidents?

Attempts like these are completely against the security protocols of any airport, be it domestic or international. No one should try to enter airports carrying a fake ticket as this can turn out to be a major problem after authorities catch the suspects. The possibility of getting suspected and caught is very high and airport personnel usually get hold of such passengers.

It takes absolutely no time to catch that person and file complaints with the police. Just like this incident, suspects are produced in the court as well. Doing something like this is risky and dangerous, and can hamper your reputation in seconds. If it is too urgent to get inside the airport, it is always a necessity to book a valid ticket and only then only enter. Staff can easily detect if someone breaches rules.
