X User Demands Dedicated Shoe Trays At Security Check For Hygiene Reasons; Bengaluru Airport Responds

Going through a security check at any airport is a cumbersome task. Removing one’s laptop, electronic gadgets, and even shoes during the scan is tedious, to say the least. Recently, an X user highlighted the need to have dedicated shoe trays at the security check at Bengaluru International Airport. Read on to know how the airport responded.

Man Demands Need To Have Dedicated Shoe Trays At Bengaluru Airport

Anand Nichani, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his grievance of having to use the same tray for both electronic gadgets and dirty shoes during security check at Bengaluru International Airport. He shared pictures of his shoes and electronic gadgets placed in trays to be scanned. In his caption, he mentioned that the same trays carried both muddy shoes and personal items. “This is not okay,” said the Nichani.

He called upon the need to make dedicated trays for shoes mandatory for both a cleaner and more pleasant airport experience for passengers. “Who’s with me?” asks Nichani. Many Netziens fully agreed with the X user in the comments section. Some admitted to not thinking about this earlier, but now they do. “Mandatory shoe trays are the way forward,” wrote one Netizen. Anand Nichani even tagged the official X handles of the Airports Authority of India(AAI) and Bengaluru International Airport.

Airport Responds With Proof

In no time, his post went viral garnering over 400 comments and 35.1k views. The official X handle of Bengaluru International Airport responded to his grievance. It posted pictures of a rack of grey-coloured treys with a poster near it. The poster urged passengers to use the grey-coloured trays for placing their shoes at the security check. The handle responded that hygiene was a priority for them and they have positioned dedicated shoe trays near all the other X-rays for ease.

However, Anand stated that he didn’t come across this rack of trays during the security check. And if this was the case, he questioned why none of the passengers used the dedicated shoe trays while he was at Bengaluru Airport. The airport’s official handle hasn’t responded to this query yet.

Meanwhile, have you come across or used dedicated shoe trays during security checks at airports?
