Traffic

A huge crowd is travelling to Shimla at the moment. Shimla is a great destination to beat this heat and with the Shoolini fair, the crowd is immense. Commuters who are travelling by road on the Shimla-Chandigarh highway are facing horrible traffic. The cars do not really seem to move an inch; the traffic jam is massive. The traffic situation went out of control last weekend at Solan.

The Traffic While Travelling To Shimla Right Now Is Terrible

Shimla attracts crowds and tourists all around the year. Similarly, the last weekend, a lot of travellers visited Shimla from all around. People who took the Shimla-Chandigarh National Highway faced immensely unbearable traffic the last Sunday. The cars hardly moved in Solan and it took nearly an hour to cover a distance of just 1 km. The traffic was mostly of the tourist cars returning back to Chandigarh or their destinations travelling through the Shimla-Chandigarh National Highway.

Reasons For Such A Huge Rush Of Cars:

It takes no effort to understand that a big reason for such traffic on the highway on Sunday was due to the weekends. Everyone wishes to go for a short getaway on weekends and many people living near took a short trip to Shimla this past weekend. And this led to a huge rush while returning back from Shimla. Also, Solan hosts the grand Shoolini fair during this time. This year, the fair took place from 24 June to 26 June. This fair led to the closing down of Mall Road. On top of that, no vehicles were allowed to park on Rajgarh Road. No parking was allowed starting from the old DC office chowk to the Shoolini fair.

The heavy goods vehicles, lorries, and buses that were travelling to Solan from Rajgarh had to travel by the Kotla Nala Chowk. The buses and vehicles travelling to Chandigarh also had to shift to Kumarhatti from Ochhaghat. Every inconvenience fell together and resulted in this massive traffic jam.
