You Can Soon Book Up To 3 Uber Rides Simultaneously With Their New Concurrent Rides Feature; Here’s How

Uber is expanding its services in India with its concurrent rides feature. It allows users to book up to three rides simultaneously. This feature is already available in several global markets. According to a TechCrunch report, the feature will roll out gradually across India. However, Uber has not specified which Indian cities will offer this feature initially.

 Uber Concurrent Rides Feature

The new feature aims to capture a wider customer base, including those without smartphones. This means that a guest rider does not need the Uber app to book a ride. Users with Uber accounts can now book rides for friends or family members. They can share trip details via WhatsApp or text message. The message contains the driver’s full name, cab model, registration number, Uber’s contact number to reach the driver, a link to track the ride, and a four-digit PIN to start the ride.

Uber has allowed booking rides for someone else for some time. However, this was restricted to one user. Now, with the concurrent rides feature, multiple riders can benefit. For payments, the person who has booked can pay via the app, or the rider can pay the driver in cash. Multiple riders can also pay the driver in cash or via the app.

The move positions Uber ahead of its competitor, Ola. Ola currently allows two rides at a time with limited payment options. Ola does not allow users to make two bookings at the same time using a single online payment method. This means the person booking must either choose two different online payment methods or pay via cash. Uber’s concurrent rides feature simplifies this process, making it more user-friendly.

Many users face the issue of needing to book multiple rides simultaneously. This feature also benefits those who need to manage transportation for elderly family members or guests without smartphones.

Booking multiple rides is simple. Open the Uber app and book the first ride as usual. Then, go back to the home screen and start booking the second ride. Repeat this process for the third ride if needed. Each ride will appear in the app with its own details and tracking information. This allows the user to monitor all rides concurrently.
