Assam, one of the ‘Seven Sisters’, has a new way of travelling through its hilly terrain. You can now hop on a helicopter if you wish to travel between the state’s major cities — Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Guwahati and Jorhat. These cities are now connected through helicopter service and you can witness the enigmatic terrain of this Northeastern state. But why only these four cities?
Helicopter Service In Assam
Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, these four cities will be connected with six helicopter routes starting from 8th February. The scheme has aimed to start a total of eighty-six flights in six states; Assam is the first phase. The route will start from Dibrugarh to Jorhat, then to Tezpur with the last stop being Guwahati.
It so happens that these four cities are important in terms of tourism. And introducing a helicopter route is great for tourists as they won’t have to wait for connecting buses or flights.
