Travelling via planes can be quick but it can also be a pain. There is a plethora of instructions to be followed and you even have to pack your bags as per the airport’s rules. Recently, a major airport announced new rules. Until further notice, liquids in containers of more than 100 millilitres will not be allowed in hand luggage or carry-ons for a flight. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this new restriction.
New Airport Rules: Cannot Carry Liquids In Bottles Over 100 ML

As per the new rules at the Birmingham Airport in London, passengers are disallowed from carrying liquids, gels, paste and even slime in containers over 100 millilitres in one’s hand luggage. This new rule will be applicable to all until further notice.
As per the rules, even if a bottle that can carry liquids of more than 100 millilitres has liquid in it that is less than the stipulated quantity, the bottle will be confiscated and destroyed. It is important to note that there is no limit to the number of 100-millilitre bottles that one can carry.
Furthermore, empty bottles of more than 100-millilitre capacity are allowed. These new rules have been shared in a warning issued by the airport authorities on their website as well as their X (formerly known as Twitter).

According to an article which was recently published by the Birmingham Mail, this particular warning has been labelled as imperative. It is crucial that all passengers follow these rules and are mindful of them when travelling to or from this airport.
These new rules have been put in place after its latest “next generation” security hall got machines capable of processing large quantities. However, as of now, all of the passengers must stick to the latest rules stipulated by the airport.
