Your Go First Flights Between May 3-5 Was Cancelled? Here’s How To Get A Refund

If you are set to fly with Go First flights, then you might want to consider backup options. On Tuesday, the Indian carrier Go First Airlines requested the National Company Law Tribunal open voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings. They alerted the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that all of the airline’s flights on May 3, May 4, and May 5 will remain cancelled. Here’s how you can get a refund for the flight tickets.

Go First Flights Cancelled

According to the tweet by Go First Airlines, the flights for 3rd, 4th and 5th May 2023 have been cancelled due to operational reasons. It further states that they realise this new update may have disrupted plans. However, a full refund will be issued via the original payment method. They are also committed to offering assistance as much as they can. In addition to this, they have attached the link where you can find the information related to the refund.

According to the refund information, if a traveller bought a ticket through a travel agent, the agent will be given a credit for the cost, and the traveller must ask for the credit. But if the booking was done with Go First, the amount will be credited to the customer’s account directly.

According to the DGCA CAR Guidelines, no operating airline would be exempt from paying compensation in circumstances when the cancellations were brought on by event(s) that were unavoidable despite the carrier’s best efforts. It further states that if the passengers are told of the cancellation less than two weeks before the scheduled time of departure and up to 24 hours prior to that time, the airline must provide an alternative flight or a reimbursement, as agreed upon by the passenger. However, in the case of Go First Airline, they have already announced a refund.

Their website has answers to every question and query. If you haven’t received your refund yet, then do contact the helpline number given in the tweet above.
