Zomato’s parent company, Eternal Ltd., has announced plans to launch a new subsidiary called Blinkit Foods Private Limited. This new venture aims not only to directly compete with Zepto Cafe but also to strengthen Zomato’s food service operations. According to a report by Republic World, Eternal Ltd. announced that Blinkit Foods is proposed to be incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary and will operate in the food services business. This includes innovation, preparation, sourcing, sale, and delivery of food to customers.

The company also confirmed that Blinkit Foods will be incorporated with a total paid-up capital of ₹10 lakh. Additionally, the firm will be professionally managed with no promoter or promoter group involved. This announcement comes as the company expands its 10-minute food delivery service, Bistro, which also operates under Blinkit.

Bistro: A Quick Food Delivery App

For those who don’t know, Bistro by Blinkit was launched in December 2024. An Indian quick-commerce brand owned by Eternal Ltd., Bistro focuses on delivering hot meals, desserts, and beverages to customers within 10 minutes. Its expansive menu includes breakfast options like poha and upma, along with burgers, pasta, samosas, thalis, and more.

Currently operating in select areas of Gurugram, Noida, Delhi, and Bengaluru, Bistro uses cloud kitchens to prepare and deliver meals quickly. It specialises in offering high-quality, low-cost meals to customers. With plans to expand Bistro to more cities, the launch of the new Blinkit Foods is also aligned with the growing demand for 10-minute food delivery apps in India.
