11 Deboarded From Kolkata-Bound Alliance Air Flight In Assam After 1 Passenger Refused To Cut Call

Misbehaviour on flights has become a fairly common occurrence. In a similar incident, a total of 11 people had to be deboarded from an Alliance Air flight which was headed to Kolkata. This particular incident started when a man refused to hang up on a phone call while the plane was taking off, thus violating the protocol. The incident spiralled from there and ended up in the deboarding of all the passengers who refused to travel without him.

This incident took place on the 5th of September at the Silchar Airport in Assam. An Alliance Air flight which was headed to Kolkata was in the middle of take-off. If you’ve travelled in planes, you know that it is the protocol to turn your phones on aeroplane mode. Which means no talking on calls.

However, Suranjit Das Choudhary, who is 45 years old, continued speaking on call despite the flight attendants requesting him not to, more than once. He refused to pay heed to the flight attendants. The incident was then reported to the pilot who also asked him to cut the call, but to no avail.

According to an article recently published in The Times of India, the flier argued and misbehaved with the crew. This prompted the passenger’s deboarding. But ten others, presumably the passenger’s acquaintances also got off as they weren’t willing to fly without him.

Group Handed Over To The Police

The article stated that the plane was brought back to the bay from accelerating mode and the group who disrupted the flight were deboarded. The entire group was handed over to the local police.

However, since neither the airport authority nor the airline lodged an official complaint against them, the police allowed the deboarded group to leave. This incident was another in an increasing trend of misdemeanours exhibited by passengers.

One of the most notable that got significant attention was when a woman on a flight claimed that a passenger sitting at the back was not real.
