Ella is forever unamused ? I’m currently sitting in an airport with a traditional pre- flight margarita. Today is the first of 5 full days without my girls or the van! It might seem silly but these two are literally next to me all day, every day. I’ve left Ella for two nights once but have never been away from Pearl since the moment I scooped her up. I’m flying home for the holidays and coming back this weekend. Of course they’re staying with the only human I trust, @theasherhouse who is obviously more than capable. But damn, am I anxious without them. Also welcome to the first non van photo I’ve basically ever posted. Not sure why but let’s change things up a bit finally. ??‍♀️ I know I did this not too long ago but I have 4 hours until my next flight and a couple more drinks to go.. ask me things so I can answer! Dogs, vans, me, life, anything you want ❤️ HAPPY HOLIDAYS FAMILY!

What’s In It?

Sydney is a native of Indiana in the US. Back in September 2017, she broke up with her then-boyfriend. They had bought a Mercedes Sprinter van together. But after their breakup, her ex-boyfriend took possession of the van. But Sydney wanted to travel the world no matter what. So she worked three jobs –  as a nanny, website designer and even one including stuffing envelopes. She even sold some of her things and finally purchased an empty 2017 Ford Transit High Roof 148 Wheelbase van for $24,000 (₹17,21,076 approx) in May 2018.

She then began her journey to achieve her travel dreams. Her golden retriever, Ella accompanied her. And together they explored 20 states including Yellowstone, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, San Diego, California, Oregon and even Quebec in Canada. Ella and Sydney are on their way to tick off more places on their bucket list especially Mexico. Her van has a kitchen, office space and even solar-powered electricity. But it doesn’t have a toilet, so she often uses bathrooms at local gyms to freshen up.

What’s More?

When it comes to her travel partner, Sydney says that Ella joined her as a puppy. She describes the golden retriever to be a bit of a wild child. She states that Ella has so much energy and is one of the most fun partners she could have ever asked for. Sydney keeps posting super cute travel pictures of her and Ella. Her Instafeed is a ball of sunshine for travel enthusiasts and animal lovers. From Travelling With Pets To Volunteering, These Are Going To Be Top Travel Trends Of 2020!

I was on the road and constantly moving ALL of last year without ever digging to the bottom of my storage benches or really even cleaning out the corners of my van (which was very much needed). So we’ve been taking a bit of a breather in Tahoe with @theasherhouse to reset and enjoy these last couple weeks of staying put. I never realize how important it is to slow down until I’m actually doing it. For now, the plan is to explore California until it starts to warm up and then head all the way to Alaska ??? My goal is to move as slow as possible to soak up everything throughout the PNW and British Columbia. I’ve never been north of Portland so I’m SUUUPER excited to see what this year in crazy, new places will bring. – Also, check out last week’s podcast episode with my parents if you haven’t already! They give great advice to parents/guardians whose loved one wants to live a different type of lifestyle. Plus advice to the loved one on how to best approach the conversation! ❤️ I love hearing your thoughts on each episode so let me know what you think once you listen. HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS. ? PS: you’ll never meet a dog with a bigger attitude than Ella ? This picture speaks for itself.

Sydney might be a full-time traveller but does various things to fund her travel right from affiliate marketing, advertising, offering mentorship programs to even earning an income from her website. And this 24-year-old woman has a strong message for female solo travellers. She encourages women to ignore negative messages about solo travel. She states that women must allow others to make themselves feel weak or small, but just focus on being the string individuals that they are. Sydney wants to spread the message that women must go out and try for themselves to explore what the world has in store for them. They must get to know themselves deeply and never let anything hold them back. We’re super inspired and hope to know more about Sydney and her cute travel partner Ella’s travel adventures.  So Solo Travel Makes Sense Whether You’re Employed, Married Or Full Of Social Commitments
