One step into the upmarket, winding streets of Delhi’s Khan Market, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by an array of restaurants, from cafés to cocktail bars. While a lot of these cafes and restaurants are going with the Scandinavian-chic look, Sly Granny, the hipster grandmother’s vacation home, is a breath of fresh air. Your eyes are drawn to the walls that are covered in a haphazard assortment of paintings and photographs as you up a short flight of dimly lit stairs. The walls are covered with photographs from the coveted Granny’s travels and posters of her beloved Arnold Schwarzenegger displaying his muscles. Printed wallpapers, pop art, contemporary paintings, brass furnishings, and dim lighting all contribute to the oddly unusual atmosphere, which is always cosy and welcoming. With a mellow jazz backdrop that promotes dialogue and panoramic vistas, the location is a reflection of both history and contemporary.

Where: Khan Market, Rabindra Nagar, New Delhi
Cost: ₹2,000 for two people (approx.)
