80% Indians Want Relaxing Vacations In 2025; Family Trips, Exploring New Destinations Emerge As Biggest Trends Next Year

Digital travel platform Agoda has released its 2025 Travel Trends report and it shows relaxing trips, family holidays, and discovering new destinations are going to be the biggest motivators for travellers in the coming year. Relaxation & Family Trips Primary Motivations For Travellers In 2025

Agoda unveiled its 2025 Travel Trends report recently and it showed that 80% of Indians wish for a relaxing vacation in the new year. In the survey, travellers revealed that they wish to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and it is one of the biggest reasons to travel in the new year.

The survey also showed a strong inclination towards family-oriented trips. Around 34% of travellers plan to travel with family in 2025. About 30% of Indian travellers are expected to book family trips in the new year, Agoda’s travel report revealed. Following this, 23% of travellers are planning to travel with their significant others, while 19% are planning solo trips in 2025. Agoda highlighted a growing trend of prioritising quality time with loved ones and seeking respite from daily routines as a major travel motivator in the coming year.

Furthermore, the excitement to explore new destinations is another noteworthy trend in this report. A whopping 84% of travellers are expected to visit new destinations in 2025. These destinations are inspired by personal interests, hobbies, great value deals, recommendations from friends and family, and social media.

Other Travel Trends To Watch Out For In The New Year

Here are seven travel trends highlighted in Agoda’s 2025 Travel Trends survey:

1. Travelling with family: In 2025, family time will mean quality time and family trips will be a major trend.
2. Relaxing trips: 75% of respondents across Asia have revealed that they will travel to relax more in the coming year.
3. Tech assisting in travel planning: 80% of travellers plan to use travel apps when booking a trip.
4. Travel for less: Budget considerations remain a key factor while planning a trip, with 65% of travellers planning to spend less than ₹ 21,073 per night on accommodation.
5. In and out of office: 2025 will see an emergence of digital nomads, as 1 in 25 expects to work remotely in the new year.
6. Exploring new destinations: More than 80% of travellers are expected to explore new destinations in the coming year.
7. Travelling for theme parks: One in eight travellers expect to travel specifically to visit a theme park in 2025.
