Guwahati Airport AKA Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport has witnessed a whopping 15 per cent jump in its passenger footfall in June 2023. More than five lakh passengers arrived at the airport. Out of this 2.95 lakh passengers departed from Guwahati and the others arrived. Guwahati Airport is a gateway to Northeast India. Guwahati Airport Records 5 Lakh Passengers In June 2023; 15% Jump From Last Year
According to a report by The Financial Express, a spokesperson of Guwahati airport- controlled by the Adani Group revealed that the airport welcomed around five lakh passengers in June. This is a 15 per cent rise in footfall compared to June 2022. The spokesperson further stated that folks in Guwahati preferred to fly to Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata when it comes to domestic destinations.
For international destinations, they flew to Singapore and Paro in Bhutan. From October onwards, Guwahati Airport is expecting a further rise in passenger traffic. A positive and consistent growth in footfall is expected by the officials at Guwahati Airport during the winter. The number of passengers will surely sharpen as Guwahati is the gateway to Northeast India.

Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport recorded 4000 flight movements in June 2023. This is considerably higher in relation to the June 2022 number, states a report by The Financial Express. The airport has 2 international and 32 domestic destinations for passengers. Guwahati Airport is the largest airport in North East India and the busiest one too.
