There is nothing more annoying than a packed travel weekend and the inconvenience that accompanies it. Every traveller is concerned about crowds and delays at the airport as the summer travel season approaches. Especially with the upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend, it is expected to be exceptionally busy. AirHelp has released a list of airports in the US that can face travel disruption!

Although you can’t always pick the airport you fly to, from, or through, AirHelp has released its list of the worst airports for summer travel. If you have the freedom to avoid certain routes, this list can be useful.

Based on the proportion of delays the airport experienced in the previous month, the rankings are determined. A minimum of 5,000 flights and their timings were examined. The list can assist you in making preparations to avoid certain airports. If you can’t, then by adding extra travel time once the weekend travel surge gets underway.

If you’re going to Las Vegas, you might not just be returning home with a headache and some gaming losses. According to measurements provided by AirHelp, Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas is both the busiest and the worst in terms of delays. This past month, a staggering 35 per cent of all flights at the airport were delayed or cancelled.

It is not good news for the tens of thousands of tourists who are anticipated to travel to the city during the long weekend.

Other Airports That May Be The Worst For Summer Travel

Number two and three, not far behind LAS, are Denver International Airport with 30 per cent disruptions and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport with 32 per cent disruptions. And, that too, with a lack of signage to help tourists traverse the airport.

Honolulu International, San Francisco International, Orlando International, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, Dallas/Fort Worth International, Dallas Love Field, and Baltimore Washington International round out the list of the 10 worst airports.

So, if any of these airports are a part of your itinerary, then be sure to carry pillows and have a lot of patience!
