The UAE has bounced back to normalcy, but with strict restrictions. In terms of the nation, the capital – Abu Dhabi is taking one step at a time to combat covid-19. Abu Dhabi police had earlier had made it mandatory for residents, tourists and citizens entering Abu Dhabi to show Emirates ID, and Covid-19 certificates. However, the requirements for entering the capital city has changed once again. Read on to know more.

Residents To Now Take Covid-19 Test 48 Hours Before Entering The Captial 

Abu Dhabi’s Crisis, Emergency and Disasters Committee has announced new regulations, which will come into play from November 8. As per the new rules, all residents and residents and citizens entering Abu Dhabi will now have to produce a negative COVID-19 PCR or DPI result taken 48 hours before entering the emirate.

People Who Fail To Abide By The Rules Will Be Liable To Pay Fines

Initially, travellers were required to take a second PCR test on the sixth day of their visit- however, that rule has changed too. Now the travellers will have to take a second test after four days in Abu Dhabi and a third test on the eighth day in the emirate. The authorities are quite serious about these tests and have announced that people who fail to take the test on the fourth and eight days will be liable for fines.

Besides this, the latest guidelines also state that all residents will have to install Al Hosn mobile app to easily show test results and help monitor the spread of COVID-19. For the measures, they have introduced to enhance preventative measures for the early detection of COVID-19.

Volunteers in the covid-19 vaccine trials are exempt from these regulations. While entering the capital, the volunteers will have to use the emergency vehicle lanes when entering Abu Dhabi.
