Abu Dhabi Launches Mental Health Support Hotline In Arabic & English

Keeping the current situation in mind, many people might be dealing with anxiety and other mental health-related issues in the UAE. So, to support its citizens and residents, Abu Dhabi has launched round-the-clock mental health support online, 800-SAKINA (725462). It offers residents a safe and confidential space where they get to speak with qualified professionals about any concern that affects their well-being.

In a fantastic move, Abu Dhabi has launched a round-the-clock mental health support hotline. As revealed by the Gulf News, this service is managed by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. This is the healthcare regulator of Abu Dhabi, and it is in collaboration with Sakina, a mental health network, which operates under SEHA.

Through the hotline, there will be psychological first aid and direct access to qualified mental health professionals. These will offer intermediate support, and it is available in languages of Arabic and English. There is also a special provision for children and families.

Professionals Offering Guidance

For residents who wish to see guidance on a wide variety of concerns, the hotline is something they can consider. Whether it’s for anxiety, panic attacks, sleep difficulties, acute stress, or any other mental health-related matter, the hotline will be helping them out. Additionally, those who are already managing a mental health condition can also receive tailored advice on coping through these difficult periods.

It should be noted that the service has been activated as tensions continue to rise across the region. Additionally, it also reflects the government’s commitment towards timely and trusted support to the community.
