Arabic Is The Fourth Most Complex Language
Recently, Preply, which is a human-led language learning app, surveyed 3,608 people. These were across the USA, the UK, France, Spain, Germany, and Japan. The study explored 10 major languages that are commonly described with emotional traits and stereotypes that are strongly associated with each of them. According to the study, some of the world’s most complex languages were revealed for 2026. And it so happens that the Arabic language has taken the fourth spot.
Why Is Arabic A Complex Language To Learn?
With 31% votes, Arabic has been considered the fourth most difficult language, as it is written from right to left. Not to mention, most of the sounds that are common in this language are unfamiliar to many European language speakers. But the next question that arises is which language has taken the first spot? Well, with 46% votes, Mandarin has been voted as the most complex language in the world. The difficulty of learning this language largely stems from the internal pronunciation. Not to mention, the slight change in pitch can completely alter a word’s meaning. Additionally, it has a character-based writing system, which can be quite challenging to read and learn.

Most Romantic Languages In The World
Chinese (Mandarin) takes the first spot on the list, followed by Japanese, Korean, and Arabic. In fact, the study also mentioned the most romantic languages in the world. Yes, on this list, the Arabic language stood in seventh place. Here’s a look at the top 10 most romantic languages in the world:
