In India, the salary structure is low compared to the ones that they get in foreign countries. If you look at the food and beverage industry in the country, the pay structure is not good enough for the amount of work required. Recently, a recruitment call by a Singapore restaurant is making rounds on the Internet and is attracting many Indian employees — here’s why.
A Singapore Restaurant Job Call Attracts Indian Employees
Due to the restaurant’s extensive list of employee benefits and competitive pay, a recruiting campaign for kitchen employees and service staff is receiving a lot of interest in India.
The poster outside a restaurant in SGP was uploaded on Friday by the well-known X account @GabbbarSingh. According to the caption, it was a restaurant job call and the perks were unbelievable. It happens that Ajumma’s Korean Restaurant, a fast-casual Korean eatery situated in Singapore, made the recruitment call.
The advertised wage for the part-time employees was $10–$15 per hour (that is ₹600 to ₹900 per hour). Employee benefits include medical benefits, additional meal allowance, study leave, twice yearly bonus, sponsorship for the employee study course and so on. Netizens Ready To Ditch Indian Corporate Jobs!
This caused people to discuss the benefits offered in India after seeing the recruitment advertisement. One of the users stated that the hourly wage is from $10 to $15 across the developed countries. He further asks everyone to just compare the prices given in India.
Another user suggested that sponsorship for employees’ study courses is taking the perks a bit too far. A user argued that India believes in upskilling workers unless you want to just wait tables at a restaurant.
While sharing his experience, a user comments that he remembers working part-time at Pizza Hut. They only took a personal pizza and a Sprite at home once a week.
Another user pointed out that people see them as perks just because they aren’t offered in India. However, people abroad look at it as their minimum responsibility towards their employees.
