One of the things Ahmedabad is best known for is its Navratri celebrations. The city hosts some amazing and unique Garba events, leaving you confused about which ones to attend and which to skip. But these celebrations also bring concerns like fake passes and huge crowds. To tackle pass scams, the Ahmedabad Police are taking strict action this Navratri. Scroll down for the details!

Ahmedabad Police To Crack Down On Fake Passes This Navratri

Living in Ahmedabad for years and sorting out passes for every Navratri night, I can say that there are often times when I get confused about whether to trust a pass seller or not. People often sell complimentary passes or get passes in bulk and resell them at high rates. Sometimes, they even sell fake passes that look very similar to the original ones. ASo, taking strict action against them, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut has told Garba organisers to report fake passes.

According to Ahmedabad Mirror report, whether the pass was handed over physically or shared on social media, Garba organisers should report it so that the Ahmedabad Police. The police will file an FIR. Also, for security, 14,000 police personnel and security staff will be deployed. More than 300 officers will also be on the streets to make sure everyone gets home safely.

AI Cameras To Monitor Crowds At Garba Venues

The police have instructed Garba organisers not to allow more people than the number mentioned in their permission applications. AI-supported CCTV cameras will keep an eye on the crowd at the venues. Also, prioritising women’s safety, SHE Teams will be deployed inside the venues in Ahmedabad.

Over 4,000 CCTV cameras will help the police monitor the situation, and every police station will have an Abhayam vehicle to respond to emergencies. Additionally, 129 Police Control Room (PCR) vans will patrol the city. The police will also manage traffic, especially on SG Highway, which leads to many popular Garba venues. They are working with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to add lights to dark areas, repair damaged roads and open roads to ease traffic.
