Travelling to the airport can already be expensive. When you book a cab, the fare shown on the app can sometimes make the journey even costlier than expected. And now, Ahmedabad airport travellers will have to shell out more. Since October 1, commercial cabs at the airport have had to pay revised charges, which could add to passengers’ travel costs. Scroll down to know the new price!
Cab Charges Increased At Ahmedabad Airport
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad has updated commercial cab drop-off and pick-up charges. The new charges have been in effect since October 1, 2026. The price changes apply to yellow-plate commercial vehicles, including Ola, Uber, Rapido and Bharat Taxi. These additional charges can help with security, electricity, maintenance, traffic management and sanitation.
What Are The New Drop-Off Charges?
According to News18 report, the updated drop-off charge for commercial cabs is ₹50. They have to pay this fee even if they don’t wait at the airport after dropping off the passenger. This fee will not be shown on the app, and travellers may be asked to pay it separately at the end of the ride.
What Are The New Pick-Up Charges?
The pick-up charge at Ahmedabad airport has increased from ₹150 to ₹200. Passengers booking a cab from the airport will have to pay this charge too. This rule applies to commercial taxis at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

New Parking Area For Commercial Taxis
The airport has also changed where commercial taxis can park. Earlier, taxis could park near Terminal 2. As per Desh Gujarat, now, they have to park near Airport Circle, next to Hotel Ummed.
If you’re bringing a private vehicle to the airport, you don’t have to pay the ₹50 drop-off fee. However, you still have to follow the airport’s parking rules. At Terminal 1, private and non-commercial vehicles can pick up passengers for up to 8 minutes for free. If they stay longer, parking charges will apply.
Also, if commercial cabs stay longer at the airport, they may have to pay additional parking charges. So, to avoid these extra charges, make sure you don’t ask cab drivers to wait for too long.
