AIIMS Has Revealed 15 Italian Tourists In Delhi Test Positive For Coronavirus

India has been narrowly escaping the coronavirus outbreak up till now. After a Hyderabad techie from Bangalore tested positive for the virus, the bad news for India is not yet over. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AAIMS) has revealed that 15 Italian tourists in Delhi have been tested positive for coronavirus. The group of Italian tourists have been quarantined at New Delhi’s  Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) facility. This development has come da day after an Italian tourist in Jaipur was tested positive for the deadly virus. His wife also shoed initial symptoms of the virus. The Italian couple were a part of a tourist group touring in Rajasthan.

What’s In It?

The All India Institute Of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS) confirmed that 15 more Italian tourists who were quarantined on arrival have tested positive for coronavirus. The 15 Italian tourists have been kept at the ITBP facility at Chhawla. They are kept in preventive isolation. Concerned tourists will also go through further rounds of medical examination if they have shown initial symptoms of the infection.

So far, India reported 6 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 3 from Kerala. They were initially tested positive but have recovered. They have now gone back to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, a man from New Delhi was tested positive for the virus. The man has hosted a birthday party some time ago which was attended by students of two schools in Noida. To prevent further spread of the virus classes at both those schools have been suspended. The man’s child studied in one of those schools. But that school has been declared free from the virus after a thorough check.

India has reported 438 people to be possible suspects, out of which 225 have completed 28 days of surveillance and 189 are still under observation. An official release stated that 89 people have been kept in isolation. 118 people have been tested, out of which 103 did not have the virus but the results of 14 people are still awaited.
