According to The Times of India, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved nearly ₹37 crore for the project and has released around ₹10 crore as the first instalment.
The museum will showcase the evolution of locks from the Vedic era to modern digital and cyber-locking systems. In addition to that, the museum also aims to shed light on Aligarh’s lock-making industry and provide local manufacturers with a space to display their products to visitors and buyers. The construction of the museum is likely to take around 18 to 24 months. India’s first Lock Museum will feature several sections. They will showcase the history and development of locking systems.

Museum To Feature Cafeteria, Workshops And More
That’s not all. According to The Times of India, this museum will also feature souvenir shops, a children’s play area, a cafeteria, an auditorium, workshops and function halls. The project is planned both as a tourist attraction and a big platform for the local industry of Aligarh.
