It feels like the employees of Air India Express are not getting impressed with the airline’s decision to reduce costs. Recently, this low-cost airline stated that the cabin crew staff and employees of some specific designations will need to share their rooms while travelling officially. The employees and staff of the airline are disappointed with this new accommodation policy. Here’s all you need to know about this cost-cutting step.

The subsidiary airline of Air India released a circular recently that stated that the cabin crew and many employees will be accommodating hotel rooms on a twin-sharing basis during layovers. This new decision of sharing rooms is applicable to all the cabin crew members and the employees till the Deputy Manager level. The rule of 2 staff sharing rooms is coming into action from 15 June 2023. They shared the circular just some days back and the staff are quite unsatisfied with this measure.

As soon as the cabin crew members and employees got to know about this significant change, they started discussing this with the management. They are not pleased with this cost-cutting measure affecting their lifestyle while they are on layovers. They feel like this can impact their privacy. According to a report by dailyO, the cabin crew members are planning to protest against this significant change in the policies. They might go on mass sick leave for this.

The disappointment is not just restricted to sharing a room with another colleague, the cabin crew is also dejected with their salaries.
